Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots[a] is a 2008 action-adventure stealth game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami for the PlayStation 3. It is the sixth Metal Gear game directed by Hideo Kojima. Set five years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Five years after the Big Shell incident, Snake has been continuing his hunt for Liquid Ocelot. During this time, Snake's body has begun aging at an accelerated pace, similar to Werner syndrome. He meets with Campbell, now working with the United Nations Security Council, who informs Snake that Liquid has been located in a Middle-Eastern war zone occupied by one of Liquid's PMCs, and Snake is tasked with assassinating him.
