Tooth restoration: root canal treatment and INLAY
To save a tooth with caries that has reached the dental nerve, it is necessary to first perform root canal treatment or RCT, then once the root canal treatment is finished and depending on the amount of missing tooth structure, this piece can be restored with: an indirect dental restoration or an INLAY type inlay; the latter is manufactured by the dental laboratory with an aesthetic or metallic material.
What is Deep Margin Elevation (DME)?
In this video we address a very important issue when the caries has reached below the level of the gum. To do this, the dentist must perform this non-invasive procedure before placing the permanent restoration, raising the level of this termination, leaving it higher compared to the level of the gum. This prior treatment will prevent future caries leaks at that level.
