London Photo Walk: Harsh Light + Hasselblad, Soho to Chinatown (Spoiler: Photo 9 is my favourite!)

Take a calm but inspiring early-morning photo walk through London’s Soho, ending at the colourful entrance to Chinatown. Photos taken with the Hasselblad X2D paired with the XCD 55V lens, this video captures the city in stunning harsh light —t he kind of contrast street photographers dream about.

As cafés open and workers begin their day, you’ll hear the real sounds of the city: footsteps, conversations, deliveries, buses, and the hum of Soho waking up. The harsh sunlight creates dramatic shadows and bold highlights, giving every frame texture and depth.

Midway through the walk, I capture some of my favourite photos of the entire shoot, and the video shows the whole process—spotting the moment, composing, and taking the shot. It’s immersive, visual, and full of that raw London character.
