MD Vs. MD/PhD Vs. PhD | Which Path to Take? | Why I Decided MD/PhD

At some point, you are going to have to choose which path you are going to take. Choosing between medical school and graduate school is one thing, but why not consider doing both! Choosing to pursue an MD only or a PhD only can set you up for a very fulfilling career; however, why would someone choose to to do an MD/PhD? I talk about my process about deciding to become a physician, how I got exposed to research, and what made me decide to be a physcian-scientist. So what do you think you will choose? Hi, my name is Da'Kuawn Johnson and I am an MD/PhD student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. I started this channel to provide information on youtube that I could not find when I was considering to pursue an MD/PhD. I feel that the experience of an MD/PhD student and professional is underrepresented on YouTube and I would like to fill in that space with my perspective. I hope to be a resource for anyone looking to understand what it means to pursue an MD/PhD.
