Hampi - The Last Great Hindu Kingdom of Vijayanagara Empire

The austere and grandiose ancient city of Hampi was the last capital of the great Hindu Kingdom of Vijayanagar. Its fabulously wealthy princes built Dravidian temples and palaces, which won the admiration of travelers between the 14th and 16th centuries (CE). Today, it is one of India's most exciting tourist destinations, whose popularity remains the same with the flow of time. Hampi has been included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
