Pantry Cocktails: in Redondo with Tom and Chacho [Holiday Episode Part 1]

I’m Sarah and this is Pantry Cocktails. The show where I travel to meet people in their homes and teach them how to make delicious cocktails with ingredients and tools they already have in their pantry.

Today, we travel to Redondo Beach, California to meet Tom and Chacho, long time friends who have become part of the family. They are two of the best fun, funny, dynamic and big-hearted humans I have ever met! I'm definitely not lying about that! Learn how we met (hint: I threw his drink away...twice), my silly acronym for the 10 mezcal producing states in Mexico, make a super festive and easy holiday cocktail, make a charcuterie board cocktail perfect for any party (part 2 will feature 2 more!), evaluate White Creme de Cacao and Peppermint Schnapps including the difference between American and European Schnapps and evaluate an infused Xicaru Mezcal all while laughing and snacking on pomegranate arils. For the first drink I was inspired by a video I saw while doom scrolling one night by ‪@ainttooproudtomeg‬ she recommended a vodka soda for it and I immediately thought: "Girl! We can do better than that! It's the Holidays!!"

Happy Holiday Cocktail
1.5oz or 45mL Creme de Cacao [Mr. Stacks]
.75oz or 22mL Peppermint Schnapps
3oz or 90mL Clear Cream Soda [Jones]
Garnish: rosemary frozen in a wine glass or ice cube stuck upside down
pomegranate arils [floating ornamentally]
SOLUTION for batching rosemary "Christmas tree" ice for a large party or group: you can batch the rosemary tree ice cubes in an ice cube tray for a compact solution for a party (making multiples) instead of a few festive glasses. You won't get the cool snow hill affect but you will be able to festively enjoy with more people. Unless you happen to have enough glassware and space in your freezer that you don't need this tip (good for you!).

Charcuterie Board Cocktail
1.5oz or 45mL Vanilla Infused Mezcal
[Xicaru Silver]
2 barspoons or 3tsp Asian Pear Butter
1 barspoon or 1 tsp runny honey
.5oz or 15mL lemon juice
1.5cm or .75" cube of feta cheese
or goat cheese
Garnish: star anise
