RSS vs Tamil Nadu govt in Supreme Court: Sangh asks why ban the procession | Law Today

As the Supreme Court raised concerns regarding freedom of expression and assembly, the Tamil Nadu government argued before the court that they have no objection to the RSS route March, but want restrictions, and identified routes for the event. The RSS, on the other hand, has argued that it's a political excuse. Why allow the DMK, Dalit Panthers' public marches, but deny permission to RSS?

India Today's Aneesha Mathur spoke exclusively to Senior Adv Mahesh Jethmalani, counsel for the RSS in the case. Jethmalani says the DMK govt was using feeble excuses to deny right to freedom of expression and assembly. He said It was the govt's responsibility to ensure safety. DMK, Dalit Panthers allowed to hold public gathering, so why not us?
