This is a great tune I heard recently from mandolinist Laura-Beth Salter. She has a brilliant repertoire of really interesting tunes, and I have the pleasure of playing loads of them with her as part of our duo, and part of Kinnaris Quintet. I believe she learned this one from Kevin Henderson, and it was written by Seàn Óg Graham.
The B part of this tune involves some 3rd position - I added it in so I could get a C# grace note. 3rd position for me is still very hit-and-miss, and I only played the tune through once as it was unlikely I'd manage to get it remotely in tune twice in a row. It's on my list of things to improve, and I'm trying to learn more repertoire incorporating these challenges so I can tackle them.
