Today is a special day — we are heading on a journey to ancient Shakhrisabz together with our guests from Italy. This route is considered one of the most beautiful in the Samarkand region: winding mountain roads, green hills, high passes, and fresh air that makes you want to breathe deeper. As soon as we leave Samarkand, the true magic of Uzbek roads begins.
Along the way, we pass small villages, pastures, cozy teahouses, and endless landscapes that greatly impress our Italian guests. They ask us to stop multiple times to take photos — each turn reveals a new, even more breathtaking view.
Shakhrisabz is the birthplace of Amir Timur, and for most tourists this city becomes a revelation. There is no big-city rush here — everything reminds you of the grandeur of the past: the massive walls, the ruins of the White Palace Ak-Saray, ancient mausoleums, and wide squares. We walk through the historical center, share legends, and talk about the rich history of this region.
Our Italian friends are amazed by how warmly guests are welcomed here and how carefully Uzbeks preserve their heritage. And after the tour — a delicious Uzbek lunch. Plov, shurpa, hot bread, and aromatic green tea create that special atmosphere that makes travelers return again and again.
The road back is filled with the same mood: light conversations, laughter, sharing impressions, and thousands of photos taken in just one day.
A trip to Shakhrisabz is not just a journey. It’s an opportunity to feel the true soul of Uzbekistan, to see the country through the eyes of people who come here for the first time… and fall in love forever.
