The Vaduvur Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple, located in Vaduvur, Tamil Nadu, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama, along with his consort Sita, brother Lakshmana, and devotee Hanuman. According to temple lore, after Lord Rama's 14-year exile and victory over Ravana, he was returning to Ayodhya. During his journey, he stayed at the hermitages of various sages who wished for his perpetual presence. To honor their devotion, Rama is believed to have created an idol of himself, which he left behind for the sages. This idol is now enshrined in the Vaduvur temple. ​
Temple Architecture and Deities:

The temple features a five-tiered Rajagopuram (main tower) and a majestic Dwajastambham (flagstaff). The sanctum houses the moolavar (main deity), Sri Kodandaramar, in a standing posture with Sita and Lakshmana. The utsavar (processional deity) of Sri Kodandaramar is particularly renowned for its captivating beauty and divine smile. Additionally, there are shrines dedicated to Lord Gopala with consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama, Lord Hayagriva, Sri Andal, and the Alwars. ​

Festivals and Celebrations:

The temple hosts several annual festivals, with the 10-day Panguni Brahmotsavam in March-April, following Sri Rama Navami, being the most prominent. During this festival, various rituals and processions are conducted, drawing numerous devotees. ​
