205 Take 2: CSCC Special Saloons & Modsports and Morgan Challenge Donington Park GP Race 2

My first race in the CSCC Special Saloons & Modsports was destined to be another back of the grid start after Jon had been forced off and into the gravel in Race 1. We'd managed to brush, hoover and shake all of the gravel out of the car but the undertray was too damaged to stay on and so this was the first time the car ran without one- which gave the bonnet pins a hard time! Fortunately it was still secure and didn't cause any problems.
I'd pinpointed Danny Morris as a benchmark in the spectacular 309, which may have been a bit optimistic! Danny was Race 1 winner and was starting 10th so within touching distance, but promptly cleared off down the road when given half a chance! Still I had a great race coming through for 3rd, though things were looking uncertain towards the end as an intermittent lift pump caused some fuel surge issues. Luckily we made the flag in one of my most enjoyable races to date on a simply wonderful grid.
