The TaiPhake Community observes a 3 month rainy retreat period every year known as WAA SAAM NOWN or also popularly known among the Buddhist communities as vassa Rainy Retreat during this period the elder generation undertakes the 8 precepts of Buddhism and the people of the TaiPhake community in vassa sessions at the monastery.
Every evening the girls of the community gather at the monastery to offer candles and flowers.
This rainy retreat period is believed as very sacred period by the TaiPhake community which usually starts from July/August to October.
