I wrote this song for our livestream show called “Songs of Home.” Me and the gang, going under the name of The Tribute Rebels, each composed a few songs that had to do with our life living at home. My contribution was one of my favorite home elements, my pillow.
The pillow — what a great invention, a gateway to dreams.
There’s nothing I can’t find under there — voices in the trees, the missing pages of the sea, everything but sleep.
I’m a huge fan of Chick Corea and some of my favorite moments of his music are a collection of 20 “Children’s Songs” composed for solo piano. Simple little beauties, short and sweet. My tune has a similar arc.
