If your Yamaha FZ-16 is experiencing misfire, jerking at low RPM, or poor acceleration, follow this guide to fix the issue and fine-tune the carburetor for the best mileage and power balance.
🔥 Fixing Misfire & Jerking Issues on Yamaha FZ-16
✅ Replace the CDI Unit with a Genuine Original One – A non-genuine CDI can cause ignition timing issues, leading to misfire and jerking.
✅ Check for Vacuum Leaks – Inspect the intake manifold boots and air hoses for cracks or leaks.
✅ Clean the Petcock & Fuel Lines – Dirt buildup can cause fuel flow issues.
✅ Ensure the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is Properly Connected & Adjusted – A faulty TPS can trigger ECU error code 15, affecting performance.
✅ Use Fresh Fuel & Clean the Air Filter – A clogged air filter can cause poor air-fuel mixture.
🔧 Carburetor Fine-Tuning for Best Mileage & Power
1️⃣ Warm Up the Engine for 5-10 minutes.
2️⃣ Locate the Air-Fuel Mixture Screw on the carburetor.
3️⃣ Adjust the Mixture Screw:
Turn IN (clockwise) for leaner mixture (better mileage)
Turn OUT (counterclockwise) for richer mixture (better power)
4️⃣ Recommended Settings:
More Mileage: 1.5 to 2 turns out
Balanced Power & Mileage: 2 to 2.5 turns out
More Power: 2.5 to 3 turns out
5️⃣ Test Ride & Fine-Tune – Adjust slightly if the bike feels sluggish or if fuel consumption is too high.
