Make My Life (stadium dream)

I'll never forget the morning of February 2, 2003…. Just before waking up, I received the chorus of this song in a dream. In my dream, there was a stadium full of youth who were singing this song over and over as an anthem, offering their lives to Jesus. I woke up, ran to the piano, and finished the song. At the time, we lived in New Jersey right on the Hudson River, so my piano was facing a window overlooking the entire New York City skyline. I thought of all the young people I saw every day in the city searching for significance. I began singing and praying that chorus, hammering out the chords, and finishing the rest of the tune in tears. I felt like God was giving me a gift straight from Heaven that day! Along with the song, I felt a kind of mandate that God wanted this song to be the prayer of this generation. I believe it’s the kind of prayer He longs to hear from undivided hearts. Indeed, “the eyes of the Lord are still roaming to and fro, across the whole earth, looking for hearts turned to Him,” saying, “Make my life count for eternity. Make my life bring glory to Your name.…”
