Under caretaker manager Joe Mercer England are starting to put the pain of failing to qualify for the World Cup finals behind them and take an early lead through Mick Channon. However, Petkovic pulls the Yugoslavs level before a superb goal by Oblak puts them ahead. Kevin Keegan, recovering from an earlier incident with customs officials at the airport, grabs England's equaliser and Malcolm Macdonald spurns a great chance to win it.
