Here is my homemade 18" drum sander. I have a 1 inch shaft with pillow block bearings for the drum. I have a 1 HP, 1750 RPM electric motor to run the drum. I have a DC Treadmill motor to run the conveyor. It is rated at 2.25 HP. The conveyor belt came from Klingspor. The sandpaper for the drum also came from Klingspor. In part 2 I will have the Drum sander actually sanding.
