The talk is focused on how political satire can be applied to social and political change in countries with transitional or challenged democracy. The speaker largely draws on successful experience of his co-authored political satire program in Armenia and how he was able to overcome step-by-step atmosphere of fear and physical threats that were posed by oligarchs, politicians and thugs resenting ironic criticism. He presents examples of how satire was able to teach tolerance in the society and self-restraint in politics.
