Golf Done Right | Northwoods Bulacan Hole-in-One Day DRAMA AT THE COURSE

Hosted by Jun Farcon, our round at Northwoods Golf & Country Club, Bulacan was Rotary fellowship done the proper way—quietly competitive, thoughtfully paced, and rich in character.

Northwoods is a classic, thinking golfer’s course. It rewards discipline, not bravado. Rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and subtly contoured greens demand placement, patience, and respect for angles. This is not a course you overpower; it’s a course you read.

We played in two flights. Flight One featured John Fuentes, Bing Garcia, Rodien Paca, and Bobby Zamora—steady golf and sharper conversations. Flight Two brought Efren Martinez, Jude Doctora, host Jun Farcon, and Incoming District Governor Celso Montalla.

The highlight came early at Hole Two, a deceptively challenging par three. Clean swing. Perfect flight. One bounce and in. Hole-in-one by Governor Montalla. No theatrics—just precision. The course did what great design always does: it rewarded discipline.

True to Rotary tradition, the day closed with generosity—dinner and drinks hosted by Montalla, stories exchanged shot by shot, and fellowship that mattered more than scorecards. At Northwoods, leadership wasn’t announced. It was demonstrated—fairway by fairway.
