UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is in Mumbai on a two-day visit with a 125-member business delegation, the largest UK trade mission to India. The trip aims to deepen economic ties following the UK-India free trade agreement signed in July that looks to lower tariffs and expand market access. Ahead of his visit, the Prime Minister stated his goal is to "take full advantage of the opportunities in our new free trade agreement." A meeting is scheduled for Thursday with Prime Minister Modi, where talks will focus on implementing the trade deal. A key topic for India is the extradition of economic fugitives like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. The agenda also includes discussions on security concerns related to Khalistani elements in the UK, global issues like the war in Ukraine, and a review of the India-UK strategic partnership 2035.
