Capricho árabe - Francisco Tárrega - Vicente Arias model

Vicente Arias Castellanos (1833-1914) était un luthier espagnol, célèbre en son temps, et seul à pouvoir rivaliser avec Antonio de Torrès (1817-1892) le 'père' de la Guitare Classique moderne.*

L' anecdote la plus connue le concernant implique Tárrega, qui, un temps résident de Ciudad Real (1878-79) où Arias officiait, lui passa commande d'un instrument plus petit pour plus de praticité, difficilement capable semble t-il, de se passer de guitare en toutes circonstances.

Que ce soit à l'initiative de Tárrega ou non, il reste que les guitares de Vicente Arias sont plus petites que la norme, correspondant à ce que nous identifierions comme des trois-quart.

La guitare que je joue ici est très légère, les aigus sont clairs et percutants ainsi que les graves, qui en outre sont bien définis et répondant aux intentions voulues sans mollesse.
D'un diapason standard (650mm), d'une grande sobriété, caractéristique des instruments créés pour être quotidiens et joués plutôt que d’apparat.
La table est barrée d'un éventail 5 brins asymétriques.
Le relevé de plan de ce modèle a été réalisé par Karel Dedain, qu'il a en toute simplicité et gracieusement mis à disposition de Lucien Dubois.

Le Capricho Árabe, écrit en 1892, est une des pièces les plus populaires du répertoire.
Elle permet une multitude d'approches et de choix d'interprétations.
Indiquée 'andantino' par Tarrega, elle laisse supposer un certain allant.
J'ai choisi ici, d'en donner une version assez droite, choix du moment, mais cette oeuvre contient en elle de nombreux éléments et finesses, pour en empêcher une vision rigide et définitive.

The guitar that I play here is very light, the highs are clear and percussive and the bass, which in addition are well defined and responding to the desired intentions without softness.
