PPH is a life-threatening obstetrical emergency, responsible for the leading cause of maternal mortality & morbidity. Here in this lecture the causes, types, diagnosis, and signs are explained in Hindi.
Types-
1. Primary PPH -
Bleeding within 24 hours after the delivery.
3rd Stage hemorrhage
True PPH
2. Secondary PPH -
Bleeding beyond 24 hours after the delivery.
Causes are explained under the headings -
4T'S-
T - Tone
T - Trauma
T - Tissue
T - Thrombin
The most common cause for primary PPH is the atonic uterus and the common cause for secondary PPH is retained tissue.
