Disc Tarra was the largest physical media manufacturer and distributor in Indonesia. they distributed music audio CDs from various labels, and movie discs (VCD, DVD, and Bluray) from Warner Bros, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, DreamWorks, National Geographic, Columbia, and some more smaller studios.

back in 2015, its owner, Wirawan Hartawan, decided to stop manufacturing and distributing physical media altogether. this includes shutting down their online store, and they destroyed all the existing discs. according to an interview with Wirawan Hartawan, the physical media business was actually still profitable back in 2015, but the margin is getting smaller each year, and Disc Tarra closed more stores each year.

He said that there is no future in physical media especially in Indonesia. so, before his business collapsed, he decided to close Disc Tarra and started a successful hydrofarming business. he trained many of the existing Disc Tarra employees to work on hydro farms, so that the closing of Disc Tarra would not cause a massive layout.
