Starting at SABIAN in 2021 and assuming his current role in 2024, Randy’s story highlights passion, persistence, and the power of music.

Randy’s love of music began early, influenced by his stepfather’s guitar playing. In early grade school, he discovered drumming and connected with its energy. By middle school, his music teacher loaned him a drum kit with SABIAN cymbals, marking his first encounter with the brand. A key moment came when he met Peter Stairs, SABIAN’s VP of International Sales, who invited him to handpick cymbals at the factory, solidifying Randy’s love of the brand.

Fast forward to 2021, Randy was offered the opportunity to join SABIAN. After an extensive interview process and mentorship under Mark Love, SABIAN’s 40-year Master Product Specialist, Randy became Director of Research & Development in 2024. His role blends technical expertise with creative innovation, shaping SABIAN’s future by enhancing manufacturing processes, embracing innovation, and collaborating with SABIAN’s impressive roster of artists.
