Europe Rings for Peace
On Saturday May 10 bells rang out all over Europe - church bells, school bells, hand bells, ship bells, town hall bells - to ask for Peace. Yes, it is the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe, commemorated widely throughout the world. But there is so much strife and misery right now which needs to end. Here in Visby the Domkyrkan - the Cathedral of Sankta Maria - joined the effort called Europe Rings for Peace. At 3 pm the carillon in the southeastern tower rang over our ancient little town. This is a selection of tunes, including Simon & Garfunkel's "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" and ending with the classic "Dona Nobis Pacem" - Grant Us Peace. I hope you enjoy this video and will join with me to seek - and demand - Peace.🏆
