Another stroll down memory lane, this time reminiscing about the 12-odd years I spent working in the Palace of Westminster.
It features in my forthcoming book 'La Bella Visconti', which is set at the Yorkist courts of Edward IV and Richard III. The Palace was an official royal residence back in the Medieval era, but the original building burnt down in 1834. It was replaced by the current one which was designed by Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin.
Other locations featured are Parliament Square, Victoria Street, Westminster Abbey, St Margaret's, the QE2 Conference Centre, and the Methodists Hall. I've added a bolt-on of the site of the former New Scotland Yard building on the corner of Victoria St and Broadway, another old haunt of mine.
Thumbnail: Another silly red arrow, and the '90's image clothing jacket gets an airing again. The ISDN reference is about the 3 data circuits I installed for the BBC under the seat of one of the benches in the Lobby Room. Another 'how the f*ck' moment!
