Monument Valley 편
총 20,000Km 중 뉴욕-워싱턴-보스턴-나이아가라-시카고-매디슨 카운티-내슈빌-마이애미-키 웨스트-올랜도-뉴 올리언스-휴스턴-산타페-세도나-Grand Canyon-Horse Shoe Bend-Bryce Canyon-Arches 국립공원-Goosenecks 주립공원-Monument Valley 까지 이제 전체 여정의 약 3/5이 넘는 12,700Km를 달렸다

Goosenecks 주립공원은 강물이 강뚝을 깍아내 생긴 굽어진 강인데 굽어진 모습이 거위목을 닮아 붙여진 이름이다
굽어진 거위목이 수없이 반복되어 있는데 규모를 가늠하기 어렵다
구글맵을 이용하여 Goosenecks State Park 를 확대 해보니 San Juan 강물이 수억년 동안 구비 구비 구부러져 흘러 저런 멋진 작품을 만들어 놓았다
마침 바비큐 시설이 있어 쇠고기 등심을 숯불에 구우니 모두들 이런 맛 처음이라며 맛있게 먹는다
10만원 어치의 고기로 10명이 충분히 먹다니 우리나라 한우 값의 1/4 밖에 안된다
Monument Valley 는 아메리칸 인디언 Navajo 족 들이 성지로 여기는 곳으로 콜로라도 고원에 있는 거대한 사암덩어리로 유명한 계곡이다
해 뜨는 광경이 멋지고 신비롭다
Monument Valley 는 원래 계곡 이어서 Valley 라고 이름이 붙여 졌지만 5,000 여년 동안의 풍화작용으로 계곡은 없어지고 지각 변동으로 바위 들만 남게 되었단다
비포장 도로를 따라 다양한 모양의 사암덩어리 들이 즐비하게 늘어서 있다
나도 잠시 나바호 인디언이 되어 말타고 포즈를 취해봤다
Tom Hanks 주연의 영화 ‘Forrest Gump’ 에서 ‘톰 행크스’가 3년 2개월동안 추종자들에게 희망을 주며 무작정 달리기를 하다가 갑자기 멈추고 “난 많이 지쳤다 이제 집에 가야겠다!” 라고 말한 곳!
바로 이곳 ‘Forrest Gump Point’에서 많은 사람들이 마라톤 따라하기를 한다
내일은 700Km 를 달려 도박과 환락의 도시 Las Vegas 로 떠납니다~^*

Gooseenecks State Park is a curved river formed by the river cutting off a riverbank, and it is named because it resembles a goose neck.
The bent goose is repeated countless times, but it's hard to estimate the size.
When I expanded the Gooseenecks State Park using Google Maps, the San Juan River has been bending and flowing for hundreds of millions of years, creating such a wonderful work.
There's a barbecue facility, so everyone says it's their first time grilling beef sirloin on charcoal and eats it deliciously.
Ten people can eat enough meat worth 100,000 won. It's only a quarter of the price of Korean beef.
Monument Valley is considered a sacred place by the American Indian Navajo people and is a valley famous for its huge sandstone blocks on the Colorado Plateau.
The view of the sun rising is cool and mysterious.
Monument Valley was originally named Valley because it was a valley, but due to weathering over 5,000 years, the valley disappeared and only rocks remained due to crustal fluctuations.
Along the unpaved road, sandstone blocks of various shapes are lined up.
I briefly became a Navajo Indian and posed on a horse.
The place where Tom Hanks, starring Tom Hanks, ran recklessly, giving hope to his followers for three years and two months, suddenly stopped and said, "I'm exhausted and I'm going home now!"
Many people follow the marathon here at "Forest Jump Point".
