“Why Was the Card Cut?” Minister Orders Suspension Over Ration Card Cancellation

ନନ୍ଦପୁର ବ୍ଲକ ଚାଟୁଆ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତର ଉପର କଣ୍ଡାପାଲି ଗାଁର ମହିଳା କମଳା ଗେମେଲ୍ ତାଙ୍କ ୪ ଜଣିଆ ପରିବାର ପାଇଁ ଉଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ରାସନ୍ କାର୍ଡକୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ କାରଣ ଦେଖାଇ କାଟି ଦେଇଥିବା ଓ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ହେବ ଚାଉଳ ଦିଆଯାଉ ନଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ଶୁଣି ରାଗିଗଲେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ। କାର୍ଡ କାହିଁକି କାଟିଲ ଆଗ କୁହ ବୋଲି କହିବା ସହ ଯୋଗାଣ ନୀରିକ୍ଷକଙ୍କୁ ସସ୍‌ପେଣ୍ଡ କରିବାକୁ ଦେଲେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ।

The Odisha Supply Minister lost his temper after hearing a complaint from Kamala Gemel, a woman from Upper Kandapali village under Chatua Panchayat in Nandapur Block, alleging that her family’s ration card meant for four members was cancelled without justification.

According to the complaint, Kamala Gemel has not been provided rice for the past two years after her ration card was cut citing various reasons. Reacting sharply, the minister demanded an explanation, saying “First tell me why the card was cut”, and ordered the suspension of the concerned supply inspector.
