What are you really looking for? In this week’s message, “What Are You Looking For?”, we continue our sermon series “When God Shows Up” on this Second Sunday of Epiphany, a season centered on revelation, discovery, and God being made known in unexpected ways.

This sermon invites us to pause and reflect on the deeper longings of our hearts. In a world that constantly tells us what we should want—success, certainty, recognition, comfort—Jesus asks a simple yet profound question: What are you looking for? It’s a question that reaches beyond surface answers and invites honest self-examination. Are we searching for meaning? Belonging? Healing? Direction? Hope?

Drawing from the early encounters between Jesus and his first followers, this message explores how God often shows up not with loud proclamations, but through curiosity, invitation, and relationship. Epiphany reminds us that faith often begins with a question rather than a conclusion, and that seeking is an essential part of discipleship. When we dare to name what we are truly searching for, we open ourselves to the possibility that God is already closer than we realize.
