Tahj Mowry talks Usher & Prince influence, being biracial, career on Smart Guy, new music & more

You may know him from the popular 1990’s sitcom “Smart Guy”, ABC’s “Baby Daddy” and load of other acting credits, but after over 20 years of being an actor in the entertainment business, Tahj Mowry talks with Terry from MusicXclusives TV about his next career goal of presenting his talent as a singer to the world on a much larger scale. In our sit down with Tahj, he spoke on how singers such as Usher, Michael Jackson, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, James Blake and Sam Sparro inspired him to create music that he describes as “Future Funk”. We learned that during his time away from the big screen in the early 2000’s, Tahj attended high school and then college to study advertising, then later learned that his true calling is to pursue a career as a creative. Tahj let us know what it was like for many of the the popular young actors of the 1990’s to figure out their next move after their sitcoms came to an end, as well as how difficult it is for an actor to go from being famous as a child and then mixing in with the average “nine to fiver” of the world as an adult. Tahj also spoke on what it’s like for him to be an uncle to the children of his sisters “Tia and Tamera Mowry, what it was like for him to learn his identity being biracial and much more.

To wrap up the interview, Tajh told us to keep a look out for his new single, “Flirt”, which is scheduled to be released on April 28, 2015, his upcoming EP and the 5th season of his hit television show “Baby Dady”. Enjoy!
