Part 2: Walking through the snow in the Aberdeenshire village of Kemnay, January 2026.
We measured a couple of untouched areas of snow, unaffected by any drifting or additional snow due to falling from trees etc, and one was about 20.5 inches (52cm) deep, and the other was almost 22 inches (55.5cm) deep (pictures in video). There was further snow fall later that day and also the following day so it will have been slightly more than this before it started to melt.
Walking about was quite hard going on the pavements as they had little clearing in the most part, so we were using the unusually-quiet roads to move around.
Having had about 5-6 inches (12-15cm) fall in the morning (Monday 5th), it was nice to see the sun and blue skies again, which also made for lovely skies as sunset time approached.
I hope you enjoy the video of the walk around the snowy village. Best wishes to everyone for 2026.
