One of the most famous and bizarre instances of a double knockout in MMA history was the fight between Gray Maynard and Rob Emerson. In this fight, Maynard lifted Emerson for a slam and in the process, knocked himself out. Emerson was also injured and unable to continue, leading to a no-contest.[[2]
Another notable example is the UFC fight between Matt Hughes and Carlos Newton. Hughes was caught in a triangle choke by Newton and was losing consciousness. As he was passing out, he slammed Newton to the mat, knocking Newton out. Hughes himself was out for a moment but woke up first and was declared the winner.[[2](
