Welcome to Supercut 4 (Episodes 31-40) of Forest River, North Dakota!

Today marks the beginning of Year 5 here on the Forest River MEGA Farm, and with it comes one of the biggest transformations we’ve ever made in this series! We’re kicking off a brand new chapter in the month of March, and after wrapping up a record-breaking Year 4 harvest, selling off all of our Corn and Wheat over the Winter, we’re sitting strong with just over 5 million dollars in the bank. It’s been an incredible journey so far, but this year… things are about to change in a big way.

After four long and successful years operating out of our current MEGA Farm, I’ve decided it’s time to shake things up and take this operation in an entirely new direction. As much as I’ve loved our existing setup, it’s reached its limits. The layout has served us well, but it’s just not built for what I have in mind next. So, I’ve made a bold decision — we’re selling the farm that’s been our home base for the past four years and moving to an all-new location to take on a completely different challenge.

We’ll be relocating to the southeast corner of the Forest River map, where I’ve found a perfect stretch of land — open, flat, and ready for expansion. That’s where we’ll be breaking ground on our next big project: a brand new MEGA Farm unlike any we’ve built before. But here’s the twist — this isn’t just another crop-based operation. We’re diving headfirst into livestock, and not just any livestock… we’re going all in on hog farming!

That’s right — our next big venture will be focused around pigs. I’ll be purchasing a massive 150-acre property, and we’ll be splitting the land into two main areas. On one side, we’ll construct a state-of-the-art hog facility capable of housing an incredible 6,000 pigs right from the start — and that’s only the beginning. The plan is to expand even further down the line as our operation grows. On the other side of the property, we’ll design a more traditional farm layout with large storage sheds, crop silos, and equipment barns, giving us plenty of space to manage both the livestock and our crop production efficiently.

Now, I won’t be purchasing all 6,000 pigs right away — we’re going to pace ourselves and focus first on building out the farm and setting up the infrastructure we’ll need to support a large-scale hog operation. That means feed storage, slurry handling, grain drying, and of course, plenty of equipment. Thankfully, we’ve still got a couple million dollars’ worth of Soybeans left over at our old farm that we’ll be selling off this summer, and once that income rolls in, it should give us the perfect financial boost to bring in our first batch of pigs and really get the livestock side of this operation moving!
