Your wife is a powerful force, a partner who will help you achieve all you need in life, but you might be the unintentional hindrance in her own path. In Proverbs 31, she is declared as a person of strong character, one you can trust completely regardless of past mistakes.
A true measure of whether you are supporting her growth or holding her back is revealed in her reaction to a mistake. When she fails or falls short of your expectations, what is her first instinct?
Does she hide from you out of fear, expecting insult, blame, or abuse? Or does she run to you immediately for comfort, counsel, and help?
The answer to that question reveals the climate you have created in your marriage. You can either be the voice of Satan or the voice of Jesus. Both the husband and wife need to believe what the Bible declares about the virtuous woman, and not what they have experienced so far in life.
