My first encounter with Weissenberg was a video tape which I got as a gift during my middle-school time: Rachmaninoff concerto No. 2 with Karajan. Later on he came to China as a competition Jury. Some years later I became a student in Hannover and once got so much into watching his stunning video performance on Stravinsky's Petrushka (A Swedish B/W production).

Somehow I bump into this piece by coincidence whilst listening to a marvelous live concert by Marc-André Hamelin and found it so wonderfully transcribed that I want to check out. Soon I found a group of transcriptions based on French songs which done by Maestro Weissenberg. Simply fascinating.
