In this video, my friend and I ventured deep into the forest to collect Ippe seeds (also known as Mahua seeds), which are traditionally used by tribal communities to extract pure forest oil. This oil serves multiple purposes – from cooking to relieving body pains – and holds great value in tribal life.
While we were collecting the seeds, we suddenly encountered a wild boar that tried to charge at us. In a split-second reaction, we dropped our camera and the seeds and quickly climbed a nearby tree for safety. After the boar left, we got down, chased it away, and safely collected the seeds again.
Once home, we processed the seeds by drying them under the sun for ten days – a necessary step before oil extraction. Finally, we took them to a local oil mill where the traditional oil-making process was done. Watch the full video to experience this raw, real, and wild journey from forest to oil!
