Amateur film of the Field Day parade and activities held on May 26, 1931, in South River, New Jersey. The activities that followed the parade took place on the Polish Giants athletic field over the border in East Brunswick. The dances and activities were identified in a May 27, 1931, article in the "Daily Home News" as: Russian dance, pupils of Willett School; Italian dance, pupils of Campbell School; "La Polichinelle" dance, pupils of Lincoln School; American dance, pupils of Campbell School; Csardos dance, pupils of Lincoln School; and physical training mass drill, pupils of Willett School. The unidentified band in the parade was from Woodbridge.
In 1986, the silent film was shown to a group of Willett School students along with a second film of 1952 field day activities. Former Willett School principal Chester Zdrodowski provided narration. The narration was recorded and in 2025, the 1931 film and 1986 audio were united to produce the film seen here. It was shown in public for the first time at the first New Jersey Archival Film Festival on November 1, 2025.
