Prague's Big In-Motion-Charging Buses Star at Electric Bus Conference

Prague’s new in-motion-charging (dynamic charging) electric buses were the focal point of the 7th International E-bus Conference, which took place in Prague / Praha, Czech Republic in October 2024. The battery trolleybuses run on two new eBRT (electric bus rapid transit) lines, both of which opened in 2024 – more than half a century after the city’s conventional trolleybuses were replaced with polluting fossil fuel buses.
The newest line, which runs to the airport, uses 24.7 meter-long buses that can hold 180 passengers. The new trolley wires cover about half of the lines, and the buses run on batteries for the other half.

It also includes Dr. Wolfgang Backhaus, President trolley:motion and Jan Barchanek, Transport Director, Prague Public Transit (DPP) and Vice Chair UITP Bus Committee speaking at the Conference.
