Ippon-me Yukizure is, for example, a situation where one is captured and being escorted. You take a step to let them pass, allowing the two people on either side to go ahead, then swiftly draw and cut down the opponent on the right. Then, turning around, you cut down the opponent on the left with a vertical downward cut from true center (Makko).
This technique can be considered as performing the third technique of Oku Iai Iwaza No Bu (sitting techniques), 'Tozume,' in a standing position. Just like 'Tozume,' you begin drawing the sword toward the center. From the opponent's perspective, they do not know which side you are going to cut, so they cannot attack. By twisting the waist and cutting the opponent in front on the right, the body naturally aligns with the opponent on the left.
When striking the opponent on the right, the posture should be slightly leaning forward, as if being pushed. This is a major characteristic of performing the technique in a standing position. The way the body and wrist twist during the draw is exactly the same as in 'Tozume.' If not done in this way, it would not be possible to cut with one hand, nor would it be possible to continue into the following movements.
This technique has two alternative variations:
1.After cutting the opponent in front on the right, you further cut straight down with a vertical downward cut, then immediately cut down the opponent in front on the left.
2.Before cutting the opponent in front on the right, you use your body to push against the opponent on the left."**
