Learning from David"s Repentance.

Denial is a big hindrance to a genuine repentance.
Denial is a man's entrapment because it comes from the pit of hell. It makes us ignore the reality of our need and places us on a false pedestal setting us up for a damning fall.
We all know when we begin our journey towards the downward slope of a fall or sin, yet when denial is at play, we are numbed to the reality of the consequences that may follow.
Being found in the wrong relationships, being in the wrong place, opening our hearts to the wrong inputs, or when we tell ourselves we know what we are doing in the midst of correction or guidance, flying on the wings of invisibility and so on, all of these are a typical reality of denial.

David could have said, “man! Prophet of God”, I do not know where that sinful impulse came from, I am as surprised as you are, because can’t you see I am a righteous person I have done so many good things and even now I am surprised where this came from. If he said that he was right yet in that instance all that he had done or achieved made no difference until he had confronted the present reality. Denial always attempts to block the present reality.
