I had always wanted to travel to Iran, and before the pandemic hit, I was decided to go. Although the New Zealand travel advisory website had advised against travel to Iran, I had met many travellers who had gone (including my sister), who said it was an amazing country to go to and could not be missed.
So I decided to go and spend two weeks exploring the amazing country of Iran by myself, not knowing anyone. I landed in the capital city, Tehran. It was chaotic, screamingly busy and beautiful. As I only had two weeks and many cities I wanted to visit, I only spend two days in Tehran. I spent the days walking around the beautiful Grand Bazaar and people watching, as well as riding the metro to the north of Tehran to Tajrish, which was surrounded by beautiful mountains.
