Exploring the ARK Encounter

The Ark Encounter is a theme park in Kentucky, opened in 2016 by the fundamentalist Christian group Answers Genesis (AiG), which presents a life-size replica of Noah's Ark based on its biblical dimensions. Its discovery history is not one of archaeological finding but of an intentional construction to refute scientific views and provide a physical representation of the biblical account of creation and the flood. AiG's founder Ken Ham, was motivated by challenges from students regarding the plausibility of the ark story, leading him to advocate for a biblical understanding of history.

Construction: The life-size replica was built in Williamstown, Kentucky, and is the world's largest free-standing timber-frame structure.
