부전 시장(釜田市場)은 6·25 전쟁 이후에 전국 각지에서 몰려 온 피난민들이 터를 잡으면서 형성되었다. 1970년 10월 1일에 부전역상가아파트라는 법인체가 구성되었다. 1973년에 상가 건물을 착공하여, 1974년에 준공하였다. 1975년에 개장하였으며, 1975년 11월 20일에 시장으로 등록하였다.

2006년 8월에 상권의 활성화를 위해 부전 상가, 부전 시장, 서면 종합 시장, 부전 인삼 시장, 부전 종합 상가, 부산 전자 종합 시장 등 부전동 일대 6개의 시장 번영회 대표가 모여 부전 마켓 타운을 결성하는 협정을 맺었다.

부전 시장의 대지 면적은 4,567㎡, 매장 면적은 1만 2870㎡이며, 184개의 점포로 구성되어 있다. 주 판매 상품은 농산물, 수산물, 축산물이다.

부전 시장은 부산 지역 교통의 요충지에 위치하고 있다. 부전역[철도]과 부산 도시 철도 부전역이 인접해 있으며 백화점, 유흥업소가 밀집해 있는 상업 중심지에 위치하여 유동 인구가 많으며,
편리한 쇼핑을 즐길 수 있다.

농·수·축산품과 생필품을 도매와 소매로 살 수 있고, 신선한 채소와 과일, 생선, 건어물, 가공 식품 등의 먹을거리와 그릇, 침구, 의류 등의 살거리가 풍부한 전통 시장이다.

In August 2006, representatives of six market prosperity associations in Bujeon-dong, including Bujeon Shopping Center, Bujeon Market, Seomyeon General Market, Bujeon Ginseng Market, Bujeon Shopping Center, and Busan Electronics General Market, signed an agreement to form Bujeon Market Town.

Bujeon Market has a land area of 4,567㎡ and a store area of 12,870㎡, consisting of 184 stores. The main products sold are agricultural, marine and livestock products.
