Feeding Bees and Adding Room to Grow (using Mountain Camp Method)
Today I did a mini-inspection on my new beehive. As you can see they have finished off the sugar I'd left for them previously so they needed a top up. My hive was inspected by the state apiary inspector this week week who advised I add room for them to expand resources since they've drawn 6 out of 8 frames in the brood chamber. You can see I pull out one of the blank frames in this video. The frame I spent a lot of time looking at but ultimately left alone is the other blank frame. I felt it wasn't necessary to remove any more frames since this hive was inspected by a master beekeeper within the last week. Anyways, these bees are fed and have room to expand now! I was told to prepare to split this hive in about a month so lets see how that goes when the time comes!
