Today as we walked Mall Road in Manali, we witnessed a local Himachali festival called “doli parikrama”.
In Himachal Pradesh, a doli is a palanquin or idol of a deity carried through the streets. The festival involves a procession of the doli from one temple to another, accompanied by music, singing, and dancing. Devotees offer their prayers and respects to the goddess as the procession passes through their town or village.
We witnessed this beautiful festivity in October 2024. Irrespective of religion, caste, and creed, we like filming the culture and festivities of a place as we travel.
