74" MEGA GIANT!!! Solo Alaskan Moose Hunt - Stuck N The Rut 211

This is my 4th solo moose. That sentence alone will inform you of my single digit IQ. They are the size of a clysdale Budweiser horse and they never get any smaller. Working a bull up solo is a mountain of work.

I found this bull over a mile away raking and he was posturing up to a small 65” bull. I made my move and quickly got into position but I was 880-1000 yards away. I knew once I dropped into the jungle it would be a maze and I would lose him. I chose to stay high and it was an all day waiting game of patience.

I started to slow play the bull at 11 am with some soft cow calls and he liked them. Later in the day I was getting more desperate and started to turn up a bit and get a lil sluttier. I kept building up the heat with some raking and doing some grunts. He couldn’t help it and came my way right before dark.

I was using my new @gunwerks 338 RUM with the new @revicoptics scope and that is an amazing combo. I held 3 moa for wind at 510 yards and hit right above the heart. On the video it looks like he’s taking rounds from a 22 rifle. He soaked up six 285ELDM bullets before he finally laid down for good. He’s an old tough bastard.

This is by far my biggest bull to date. A dream moose I’ve always wanted. He is 74” wide and 255” gross BC.
