Star Trek Communicator Crochet Tutorial

This is my second video tutorial. Let me know if you are able to follow along and if you have any tips for my next video tutorial. I did unfortunately get too close to camera a few times, so some of the video is slightly off focus.

IN BLACK YARN
Ch 7
Starting in the second chain from the hook
6 SC
Fasten off, leaving long tail

IN GOLD YARN
Ch4
Starting in the second chain from the hook
3 SC
Fasten off, leave tail

ASSEMBLY
Locate the outside of the black. The inside will have horizontal bars.

Thread the gold tail though tapestry needle. Pull between the third and fourth stitch so the lid is on the outside of the transponder. Remove needle.

Thread the the gold tail from your slip knot. Pull through the third and fourth stitch on the opposite side from the other gold tail. Remove needle.

You should have the gold lid on one side of the black row and the tails on the other. Tie knot in gold tails, not too tight, and trim excess.

Embroider small line with grey yarn. When tying the grey knot, it should be on the inside of the device where the black horizontal bars and gold knot are.

Fold the black yarn over to conceals the gold and grey knots.

Whip stitch the black closed on both sides.

Hide yarn tails in body.
