In July 1840 the RMS Britannia left Liverpool for its first transatlantic crossing. This journey marked the beginning of Cunard's passenger service and was a significant step for the company, establishing a regular transatlantic steamship service that would grow rapidly over following decades.
Recently the Cunard Lines grand iconic flagship The Queen Mary 2 made a historic visit to Liverpool to commemorate the companys 185 year link with the city.
She is the largest ocean liner ever built and the only true ocean liner in service in the world today and it was an honour to meet her
