Headstart: A Philippine court convicted local journalist and radio broadcaster Frenchie Cumpio and former roommate Marielle Domequil of terror financing, sentencing them to 12 to 18 years in prison.
Cumpio and Domequil were arrested during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte in a military raid on their boarding house.
Supporters of Cumpio and Domequil claim the two were victims of government red-tagging and were falsely accused of links to the Communist Party.
