This is the first video in a series about multivariable calculus.
This series is originally created as a repetition of multivariable calculus adapted to students that are going to study fluid mechanics. Hence, the course is intended for physics students, who are interested in solving physics problems, but may not care about the proof of every single theorem.
I am also aiming for students that have taken, or currently are taking, a multivariable course, and need additional repetition of the subject, which means that you may have heard about the topics in these videos before, but may not have fully understood them.
The full series is separated in several blocks.
Block 1 is about introduction to vectors
Block 2 is about derivatives
Block 3 is about integrals
Then as additional material, I have made two more
Block 4 is about cylindrical coordinates, and also general orthogonal coordinates
Block 5 is about spherical coordinates
Within a block, the videos will assume that you have seen the previous video in the block, as they will start directly from where the previous video left off.
The current topics of this video are:
0:00 Introduction
1:41 Scalars, Vectors, Tensors
4:07 Representation of vectors
6:15 Multiplication with scalar
8:29 Addition and subtraction
11:55 Unit vectors
13:34 Multiple unit vectors and rotation
18:13 Unit vectors in 3d
19:00 Points
19:28 Curves
22:48 Surfaces
25:45 Simply connected surfaces
26:50 Volumes
27:35 2D visualisation of 3d
